Back with SS2 Food!

Milo Ping ordered this Popiah. At first she was hesitant because the stall had no visitors. Then as she approached it, the owner's face lit up. He must be thinking "ahh! Finally... she's been aiming at me for so long dee..."

I went to SS2 with the intention of having char koey kak (Loh Pak Kou) but then only one stall was open and there was no business till the owner had to eat his own koey kak. Kesian.. So I conformed to Char Koey Teow which in the end turned out to be so... healthy(no oil, no taste). Haiz, sad sad...And this leng chee kang also very kesian looking(as compared to the one in Chai Leng Park from the past posts) but I think it's the best among all the LCKs in SS2 food court. I miss Penang... food. -yips-

Food Galore!!!

Cav, Nicky ( NiX ) & I have been spending loads on food lately ( and they put the blame on me for bringing them around... ish... buat baik tak dibalas pun...). The first time I tried Chili's was on NiX's birthday in Bangsar Village Centre we had Southwestern Egg Roles, Cajun burger, Lamb Shoulder & Cheesesteak Sandwich. The food was good but the service we got from them were below average. The waiters treated us as if we weren't fit to dine in this restaurant. The refills for the bottomless beverages were supposed to come immediately but we had to ask for it every single time.

which came in a small portion and wasn't so filling. Giving it a 3/10

Meatballs & Fries. and the Curry Puff in Ikea was superb. Crispy on the outside, very very filling (eggwhite, potatoes & chicken) on the inside. Definately reccomended for all. It's halal. Thinking of it makes me want to go back for more. Besides, it's only RM 1 each.

And just to satisfy my cravings for cakes, Cav, Nicky & I headed out to secret recipe where I had marvellous Cordon Bleu - for the second time this week. and it was 20x better than the one in food foundry.

Words like Medusa, farming & ks that were once alien to me are now starting to make sense. MGT paper sucked. Especially with the case study. Ms. N fed us with every tip possible but maybe that made me so lazy~ Flipped through the book for an hour or two then went straight to sleep. I Ping is currently stranded at home without internet connection.. That 'arab' (some unknown human who provides us with free internet connection) does not on his wifi anymore..entah dia hilang ke mana..therefore, we are now wifi-less..
Yips is very very busy with her own new life.. :) I doubt she will have time to update this blog anytime soon..although she pays Starbucks around 10 bucks to use their wifi but still she is too busy to update this bloggy...Entah apa yang dia buat...Hanya Tuhan & dia saja yang tahu..but i tink i know also :D
So, to summarize everything The Pings are currently busy preparing for finals (as though we study) and living through the wifi-less life. Stay tune for more updates (although i doubt there will be any updates anytime soon!) Teruskan menyokong The Pings!!

Tried out Swensen's on Sunday together along with May while heading home from Pacific. Restaurant chains like Nando's, Swen's, Subways are sprouting out in Auto-City. There is even Soho's and K-box which is still under construction. In a few months time, I wouldn't even need to travel all the way to the Island to have nice food~ -yips-

Being a first timer on PhotoshopCS2, I decided to try out photomerging on the tons and tons of camwhoring photos roberta and I have been taking over the past week. These are all the basics, I've yet to learn layering methods from ArnabMengantuk. This post has been long due but due to the lack of net connection and my laptop seemed to be on crack for the past few weeks, I suppose it's time I had this page updated. Highlands Lunch Buffetrm34.00 +tax and service chargeNice interior and loads of choices! Woke up quite late for the breakfast last Saturday while I was in Genting with dad. The whether was perfect for outdoor games but we spent a whole 2 and a half hours enjoying our meals.

IPing & I were out of groceries after the three weeks long break so we made our way to Tesco for refills. We scavenged for parking lots and went round and round Tesco. Free parking space limited and everybody is also so kiam siap. (I chose to park there so it'll be easier for me to carry all those groceries ok...). It was already 3 p.m. and we still haven't had our lunch. With our hungry stomach's growling, we jumped with joy once we saw someone getting their car. So patiently, I waited with SIGNAL LIGHT.and waited.The car drove out and ANOTHER CAR DROVE INTO OUR LOT!!! It was a Chinese middle aged lady and I honked her like crazy!! I waited there for the whole time and she just bloody drove into my space??!!JW 99Already feeling frustrated, I drove off. (regretted not waiting for her to come out so I can give her the killer stare so her shopping trip will be bugged by constant thoughts of me threatening to add enhancements to her jeep.) Not so long after, I saw two cars coming out from the same row. There was one kelisa waiting for an Avanza and so I waited for the other one. After about two minutes of unloading stuff, the Avanza decided not to drive out and the kelisa snatched my Parking lot!!!!!!!!!once bitten, twice I lost it!I honked that fella and wounnd down my window and shouted whatever I could.his reason? He waited at the spot for ages already.Fuck. It's not my problem that the Avanza chose not to leave.It was a malay family and this scenario somewhat reminds me of the advertistments on tv.Budi Bahasa Budaya Kita? yeah right.WNV 434I think I scared I Ping for a while there because she remained silent throughout the ordeal until we finally found a space which wasn't taken by any other lot snatchers. I guarded it real good like a squirrel guarding his nuts. There were not much choices of food there so we tried out Madam Lim's. It was still early for dinner and Joe is still nowhere in sight.Wanted to just skip on the parking ticket only to see two saman policewomen riding past us. *shudder* tai kat lai si. I almost jinxed myself.Walked around till about 6.30p.m. and decided to just wait for Joe in the lok lok stall. Saw Mich and Lynda walking towards us when they were supposed to be on their way home half an hour ago. Apparently Erlz's car couldn't start up and she had to call her dad who was working nearby to fix it. According to Erlz it's because the car has a soul that is connected to the real owner Alyssa (she didn't curi the car la... It's her sister). now her sister is in UK probably the car is having a nervous breakdown... 0.OWe ordered Leng Chee Kang in the meantime.
The lok lok auntie kept on ushering us to grab food as we were the only customers at that time.Mich had to follow her mum back and so did Erlz. I wonder what has happened to the car now.
After Joe arrived, we wasted no time.

This is suppose to be posted up 2 weeks ago..During the first week of sem break..But due to procastination, which I am good at..I finally gonna post it up today..Hehe...As i promised Beng, I cooked for him dinner. Suppose to cook some dish with vege and rice but ended up cooking pasta and potato salad. Easy and Fast mer.. It was my first attempt in making potato salad..Let's see how it turn out to be.. :P

Potato salad..

Consist of Potato, cucumber and eggs!

Overall : Potato was boiled too long causing it to be too soft, cucumber was too much, eggs was extremely alot!imagine 4 eggs for that much for potato. All I can taste in the potato salad is egg:(

I would say I fail in my first attempt of making potato salad..But it will not stop me from trying..Worst come to worst Beng will have to swallow all those un-makan-able food lo..hehe

It's a must to have tomyam when we go for Thai food..

HEAVENLY CHOCOLATE CAKE

On Wednesday, I was invited over to

crib in Penang to bake a chocolate cake named Heavenly Chocolate Cake, a recipe taken from Kraft Foods. The thought self-baked cake full of cocoa had me being in quite a good mood while driving over. In fact, the whether was superb it was a pity I didn't stop for photography. All I did was steering with one hand and clicking away with another.

This makes me feel like going on a vacation.alamak~ can see reflection of the interior of my carAnd we wasted no time upon reaching (of course la we had some catching up to do, stories to tell... but then started work as soon as possible).The ladies at work were (in alphabetical order): who bullies Jane around and loves to mingle with the mixer.
(looking rather hungry) and probably did the most dishwashing out of the group. (I am still in awe of how tall and slim she is)
The (sexy) Master Chef who instructed us on what to do and also willingly risked her kitchen to our amateur baking skills. *hugs hugs* (gurl, your pic a bit pixelated I'm not quite sure why. I need someone to teach me how to work photoshop!)and me: the egg poser and also the one behind the camera for all the shots.Pre-showdown: buy ingredients which included
"1 pkg. (2-layer size) chocolate cake mix (not pudding in the mix variety)
3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder, divided
3 eggs
1 cup MIRACLE WHIP Dressing (got yogurt instead)
4 oz. (1/2 of 8-oz. pkg.) PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese, softened
1 Tbsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
2-1/2 cups sifted powdered sugar (sponsor from Shzeli's aunt)"(Jane and I Ping had early grocery shopping in Sunshine Square) Pre-showdown (2) : Print the recipe and stick it to your refridgerator(for referring purposes)Now we're talking businessStep 1: STIR cake mix and 1/2 cup of the cocoa in large mixing bowl. Add eggs, 1-1/3 cups water and dressing; beat with electric mixer on low speed 30 seconds, scraping bowl frequently. Beat on medium speed 2 minutes.a happy Shzeli giving us tips on how to mingle with the blenderShzeli: No Bubbles! Must be NO BUBBLES~
Step 2:Pour into prepared pan.Step 3:BAKE 30 to 35 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.before baking.Step 4:Cool completely on wire rack.after baking. It looks glittery and shimmering!Step 5:BEAT cream cheese, milk and vanilla with electric mixer on medium speed until well blended. Gradually add combined powdered sugar and remaining 1/4 cup cocoa, beating well after each addition. Spread over cake. Cut into 16 pieces to serve.

okok...So i went out for dinner with Emily the other day..We went to one of the hawker stalls in Penang. We had japanese food..udon..and it tasted as delicious as the one in Mid Valley...and believe it or not..its only priced at RM 3.00!! yes... RM 3.00!!CHEAP, NICE & BIG!!I just love Penang..

As to celebrate Feli's last paper, we went out for lunch at Food Foundry after LLS's paperwhich I find annoyed doing it ~ gah... I didn't study for itI had Turkey Ham Carbonara fettucine! It was cheesy and filling but i like.....costed around rm12.90. Carrot says that it is a very happening place at night. There are gigs and poetry readings held in this cafe.

the mood in AE1 seems kind of dreary since it is already the last class of the semester. (or is it everybody's looking sleepy due to the completion of GDA the night before?)

After that, Austin, YY and I headed to Kepong to have the famous Mee Udang
The first time I experienced hawker stalls with canggih menu loaded with nice big pictures!Each restaurant should do that, it fascilitates the customers to choose the meal. At times, some of the names are just so weird you're tempted to try them but get disappointed once the food arrives. Picture paints a thousand words.

SS15 - Asia Cafe
Went out for supper after closing down at KJ and had New Zealand Lamb Chop. It was full of fats *ugh* and also very Jun. And I suppose it was the cause of my upset stomach in the morning.

Breakfast was at the same place again

Leong Cha which I suppose is the mixture of chrysanthemum and some herbal tea

My mixed chicken rice as well as hainan chicken rice. The fella gave me two spoons instead. Expected me to have a 'garpu'

And there was this menacing looking feline who dropped by by our tablelook at the scar- makes it look so gangster-ish

This tortoise swam straight to us as we passed the pool. I figured that if I still had my tortoise, it would probably be this huge. And to think that it used to be as tiny as the size of my thumb. That was the cutest ever!

Merdeka Eve Celebration!Aless looked so sleepy... and we were only on our way to IKanO... Long night to go. J fetched us there (hate jams) together with AdelB. This is where we went for lunch today..SHOKUDO in Mid Valley..It's has a combination of Thai & Japanese food...

This is what we had.. Chicken........thingy..Hehe...Seriously I can't remember what is it called..But it's basically deep fried chicken + fried egg + mix vege + corn + fried rice...It was quite good..The chicken tasted like KFC...*probably they tapao from there*

Black pepper udon..This is what Roberta and me ate..They have udon + mix vege + cuttle fish + siputs + cornThe meal was quite nice.. But the siputs were not fresh..Kacau steam saja these siputs...

This soup comes with both meal above...It was not that nice..tasted kinda weird.. And they did not serve us this soupAfter finishing our meals, suddenly Beng realized and he went and ask the cashier..Guess what he said..."Oh...LUPA LA!!" WHAT???How can they lupa?gosh...tua sangat ke? *gribfist*

Nuggets...Grace ordered this which comes with mayonaise..cabbage + small cute round tomato..

After finishing our meals...Look at the two soups...It's still as full as served!

So yesterday was another boring weekday..Went to college in the morning as usual..Beng and I decided to go somewhere to have a proper lunch..So, he drove to KL Sentral and we took the monorail to Bukit Bintang to have our lunch in..................

As appetizer we ordered Garlic Toast..It was fantastic..The bread was crispy and the garlic smell and taste is just nice..Not too much not too little either...YumYum...

Crabmeat Sweetcorn Soup..I can only taste some seafood thingy instead of the crabmeat..And the mixture of sweetcorn with the seafood doesn't go well toegther... :(

Hehe...I may look "sua pah-ish" but I think this is cute...

I fell in love with this orchid...I don have the guts to curi the big orchid so i took the small wan..The one the put on the drinks..hehe..easier to seludup into my bag! And the total came up to RM 78.78...What a nice number..I guess it was worth..because the lunch could last me till the next day..which is almost 24 hours!Should go there for a change n the atmosphere is very cozy & romantic! :) -I Ping-

Thursday night IPing and I went out to search for food (kononnya in Section 17 area lah..) But instead ended up in the outskirts of KL. I blame it on the misleading road signs where instead of leading us back to Bangsar, we were led to some housing area with a Bak Kut Teh shop. I'm not embarassed to say that I got lost (which I do pretty often- that's why Iping is there for...*thanks gurl* to lead the way ... ) because you yourself have also been in my situation ( be honest la...). In the end we ended up in Sunway's Ming Tien kopitiam

Mondays are usually very hectic for me..classes from 10am to 12pm & 2pm to 5pm..3 hours of Biopsychology is so so torturing!!But today I only went for 1 hour lecture and I went home early!!Yippee..thanks to Lih Ying (coz she suggested to go home early!!)..We went home early to do our review but I was too lazy..So I was looking through some food blogs...N fuh...all the food was so so tempting!!I can only admire while drooling and stamping my feet saying "I wan I wan"..I was hungry and I thought by looking at those pictures it could at least make me "full" but....NO!!it did not help...at all!!not even a tinny little bit..
So Mondays as usual Beng will fetch me to Pasar Malam in SS2..Thanks to the tempting and seducing blog i saw earlier i was craving for ROASTED DUCK...And both of us landed ourselves in.....

No duck...no roasted duck... All my hopes and dreams were crushed into pieces..My life was so miserable when i saw the menu...without a single word of DUCK in it...But....

One Noodle House In SS2 After having an improper lunch and a whole day checking out food blogs, I Ping and I couldn't withstand the hunger of having yet another Campbell's Soup for dinner. Instead, we drove ourselves to survey around SS2 area for food (besides hawker). As usual, both of us were indecisive when it comes to choosing what to eat so we just picked the one we thought had the most number of customers and landed ourselves in One Noodle House.
I Ping couldn't withstand the hunger any longer...

tersengih-sengih pulak budak ini... the place we sat on looked like a prison cell.

My food was the first to arrive... I called for Szechuan Duck Noodle because I thought it'd be something like Szechuan soup... manatau...

If I'm not mistaken, this is called tau eu cheou in Hokkien. The best tau eu cheou I've tasted is still the Dim Sum place in One Stop back in Penang. This one ain't spicy at all.

BBQ Buffet in Restoran TaliponHad dinner with J and AdelB last night in Talipon(cute name, huh?) which was situated just opposite the Kelana Jaya LRT station. I've never rendered oustide the borders of PJ for food, and I should start looking real hard cuz I'll be spending the next two and a half years over here. I can't just survive on fast food. Any suggestions of nice food around here in KL?^AdelB making preparations with her cooking skills
There was a variety of seafood to choose from (Bawal, Prawns, Crabs, Cuttlefish, etc) lots of poultry: Chicken, Pork, Lamb!! (I like...) Beef. Lots of frozen foods as well. AdelB's speciality was the Lamb BBQ (the taste still lingers in my mouth). The beef was jun (couldn't find the English translation for the word. Reffered to IPing and she said Elastic!! ) I, on the other hand, was in charge of the 'satay' and the 'BaGua' which we couldn't get enough of. We went for three rounds of 'BaGua' itself. We had our moments of hot butter sprinkled to our skin- stinging but all in all, it was worth the pain. The more pain you go through, the more appreciative you'll be of the outcome...

A peice of BaGua left for... the kitty which kept circling our table. Gosh, look at the amount of butter used! We better be keeping our cholesterol level in check!

Monster House in Cineleisure
It was my first time being in Cineleisure, and I found it real creepy to be so big and spacious. Not much shops are open yet, since it's still new, and even the floor is still being painted...Wanted to park in Tesco, but judging by the time the movie is gonna end, I wouldn't dare to walk all the way across to Tesco at midnight.Alex posing with Constance- the Giantress... erm... not in this case.

We arrived as early as 7.00p.m. for ticket redemption at eight. Had lunch before that... was searching for McDonals but ended up having "char siew pau" instead. By 7.30, the queue was getting out of hand.

The movie was pretty simple though not entirely original. It taps the inner childhood all of us used to have in us- the kid who is curious, hitting puberty, and wants to be the neighbourhood hero. Chowder played the role of the comic relief pretty well, and I love the facial expressions of the animations! It almost feels as if you're watching a real movie being captured. a fun horror ride, I would say.

I only started my PSY 105 paper this morning after coming back from jogging and a quick badminton session with fel and roberta. Thighs and hands are aching now...

After scavenging for materials, I got at least half of it done by dinner time. Tummy's growling and Hui San's cooking smells so tempting! *i miss home cooked food*
We had to get our minds off for a while so I Ping and I headed to SS2 to have our regulars...

I Ping with her Carrot Cake (why do they call it carrot cake when it is none of those things combined?) Kuek Kak sounds more appropriate instead, with her sugar cane...

I started the day waking up just before noon and realized that I was out of groceries! So suggested Mel to join me to Tesco... it was only around 12 when we left the house.

Free Parking!! *whopee* (then I remembered that Parking in Tesco has always been free)

well, you don't get that quite often here in KL.

After much consideration on what to eat for lunch, we resorted to the easiest solution (like always)...

Iping is giving me that what-happened-to-your hair look. My fringe is getting out of control.. Need a haircut. Real. Bad.

We had taste testing lab yesterday... curi makan lots of food (mainly chocolates)

Yesterday was a tiring day...a very tiring day infact...We had whole day of classes and we decided to go Italiannes for dinner... We shared this "chicken lasagna" and it was so filling.. Can hardly finish our portions.. Anyway...the setting was cool... Romantic and cozy.. It would be a nice place for couples to go.. :)

I went back to Penang during the weekends and of course have to meet up with my buddies...

and so iping went back to home penang for the weekend. which leaves the room all to myself, ah... sweet sweet silence... can never get that whenever ips is around... gotta treasure every moment... tee hee...

and so with my ketidakbolehan to stay put at home, I went out to SS2 to have dinner...
i didn't manage to snap my food(cz i was hungry and it didn't occur to me until i took my fifth bite) so instead, i took Alessandra's! (which is exactly the same thing, just tah-paued)

Shifting DAY finally arrived! Stoked to be moving into our new place... feels much more like home...

we had our PSY 101 exams in the morning. Wasn't so bad, we had all the help we needed... and for the first time... I Ping ate BREAKFAST(which consist of campbell's soup)!!!! Fuyooh... probably to celebrate our last day in SPB... i almost saw tears welled up in her eyes as she gave our apartment a last look... which happened to be tears of joy... ish ish...

a tribute to my house mate that has stuck with me through sadness, heartbreak, and lots of crazy wacko moments, all in the span of 6 months and 9 hours 25 seconds (and counting). Happy Semi-anniversarry knowing you IPING!!!!!! We shared our tears, we talked all through the night (about some really unworthy people), we sang to Rukun Negara, and lots of other stuff. She is hopeless with computer stuff, but very good at directions (which I'm not...).
Iping became my spaghetti sifu when I first came to KL knowing only how to boil water. Then we became guinea pigs to our own food inventions which turned out to be quite okay (check this blog for upcoming cooking) but somehow lately we've been too lazy to make any dishes. With Iping, there is never enough space to fill in the fridge cuz we both hog the whole thing with SeaChestnut and lots of (nutritious) drinks!
Starting from the 15th, we'll be shifting into the same room. Gosh, I wonder how things will turn out to be like... We'll be screaming and laughing the whole condo down! but i learned a technique to calm this Cat (miao miao) down... which is to provide her with ... INTERNET CONNECTION! That is the only thing that will keep her still and silent... apart from her sleeping of course. All pig punya kerja. And a new thing I found out about her lately, she is able to converse in different languages coherantly! Indian slang kah, kl malay kah, chinese pasar ka... everything also boleh... very patriotik la...
And I Ping has turned into a drama queen lately... haha... thanks to all the drama series she's watched...

from the flu Iping contracted to me... plus the late nights I've been having lately followed by the freezing air-conditioned cinema yesterday. Felt so uncomfortable the whole movie through and what's worst? it dragged a whole two and a half hour long... brrrr... felt like i could breathe out mist from my mouth...

to sum it all up, it was prolonged with unnecessary flying scenes trying to woo Lois back into his life, weak performance from Kate, a newcomer, childish storyline, and bad script. However, Brandon Routh made all those easy on the eye. It presented big effects but was disappointing nonetheless. well, that was my point of view anyway. A man's meat may be another's poison.

As of now I feel rejected, just like another video casette being ejected. I would replay the past and pause it so it could last. I know love does not last forever, but at least we know that the past is the past and all we have to do is look towards the future and hope that one day we could replay the past!

You have to take the good with the bad, smile with the sad, love what you got, remember what you had, always forgive, but never forget, learn from your mistakes, but never regret, people change, things go wrong, just remember: life goes on...

we were starving by the time we finished the 12 pm lecture... couldn't think of anywhere more brilliant to eat and therefore resorted to Pizza's lunch express. i tried the Creamy Carbonara and Iping had the Prawn Olio. I stared at the pasta as they arrived, and wondered how long that is gonna last me... probably around two hours plus?? Everything else seems tasteless because they were making it in a hurry due to the hectic lunch hour...
and so we couldn't stay put at home after class... therefore we went to lepak around megamall. Iping had to get her computer reformatted due to a virus attack courtesy of Leonard Goh...
Met Christine and boyfriend there...they both look so cute... going everywhere together nowhere without one another... probably people will think the same way about us too but gosh... me and iping are nowhere near that!! just to make it clear...
and so... we went around, walking, window shopping... MNG was on 50% sales... Went in and i couldn't even breathe... not to mention avoiding from crashing into one another... Everyone was hustling and bustling around grabbing clothes and quickly running into the fitting room. Nothing caught my eye so I wandered away from all the commotion. Iping bought a pair of pants from Treats... she has been influenced by me *courtsey* to dress up in dresses and short pants... which really looks good and is comfortable to wear in. I,however restrained from buying anything today... Looking forward to another Sungei Wang trip to get my hands on some Funky shoes!!

and by 5, our stomachs were already growling... it was a lil too early to have dinner at that time so we kinda bought magazines and had a seat. Feet=keeling me!! Ooo... i read this lil section about Men, and that they do not fancy Big Earings and Straightened Hair?? Huh?? Iping and I seem to be breaking most of the rules...

oh food!!

and so we happily trotted to the carpark with our full stomachs... to find out that... we forgot where we parked the car! we went round and round the place looking for it everywhere to find out that we got the right places but was on the wrong floor!! gosh... they should have car tracking assistants around... it could have saved us 20 minutes of our time...

drove home tired and exhausted...
but with complete enthusiasm to update this bloggy...

at this exact hour every day we see the girls lounging on the sofa. on the right we have alessandra, and on the left is iping. I'm supposed to be seated right in between of them, on the seat beside the orange cushion... along with a healthy snack, kiwi!!! and alessandra on the right with her dinner...

I came up with this idea of creating a blog out of the influence of other bloggers (check: adam's girlfriend). I have tons and tons of assignment up to my neck but procrastination got to the better of me. I haven't done any yet and it's all going to due. Thanks to I Ping who from time to time budge into my room to give me a knock on the head for... thinking nonsense... look, i'm over it already... just said that to anger you! tee hee...
