Wah!Food post!*Lick**Lick**Lick*
Here he goes again licking his computer screen!
I personally don't like putting images on my menu, especially if I'm running a fine dining restaurant with a particular attitude or theme. Seriously, big eaters should know what they'd expect when they go to restaurants to eat. Like Chai Leng park's stretch of foodstalls. They know, they can get chinese and indian food there. Too many types of chinese cuisines to be true. If we go to Pelita, we know that we can get mamak cuisine there, and so forth.Pictures would make a menu look nice if they're designed correctly, but some, they're not. The problem with WYSIWYDG (What you see is what you don't get) in a restaurant is another major problem. Sometimes, fussy customers can even complain about ZUCHINNI, or TIMUN, or whatever vege that is not on the plate (they are replaced with others). Some may even feel cheated, if they are not decorated that way, or it does not have everything that is displayed, on the plate. You may say, it's bad management but believe me.. If you work in a kitchen, you'll know what I mean by you can't be PERFECTLY perfect in every single plate all the time. A piece of 200gms meat raw, can shrink up to 50%, without you even knowing it.About funny names, you can always ask the waiter. If he does not know what the hell is he talking about or whatever the hell are you listening about, you can always call another waiter. If he does the same, talk to the manager. If the manager is also the same, walk out of the restaurant. It's probably not for you, at all.-Franz
