the colourful cups

look what they used for our fondue dipping- Aromatheraphy kit?
We waited for Joe for about 1 hour plus for her to leave from work. So while waiting we had second helpings to desert and fried stuff.

mango ice-blended soya custard- the soya custard is in fact hidden beneath the ice.

red bean ice-blended soy juice with soya custard

fried sui kao. wert ler... only give three. Some more such a small portion

yam samosa. which I loved! Dumpling with yam fillings.

three pieces of curry roll. They added the one piece of cucumber so the dish don't look so empty and kesian

After Red Bean, we walked around Chai Leng Park till Mich and Erlz had to leave. It was still early for dinner and Joe is still nowhere in sight.
Wanted to just skip on the parking ticket only to see two saman policewomen riding past us. *shudder* tai kat lai si. I almost jinxed myself.
Walked around till about 6.30p.m. and decided to just wait for Joe in the lok lok stall. Saw Mich and Lynda walking towards us when they were supposed to be on their way home half an hour ago. Apparently Erlz's car couldn't start up and she had to call her dad who was working nearby to fix it. According to Erlz it's because the car has a soul that is connected to the real owner Alyssa (she didn't curi the car la... It's her sister). now her sister is in UK probably the car is having a nervous breakdown... 0.O
We ordered Leng Chee Kang in the meantime.
The lok lok auntie kept on ushering us to grab food as we were the only customers at that time.
Mich had to follow her mum back and so did Erlz. I wonder what has happened to the car now.
After Joe arrived, we wasted no time.

I love sotongs!
After food, we had nowhere to go so we hung in the car in front of Joe's house and chatted all along. It was until we felt quite heaty and stuffy we decided to hang out in Joe's living room instead. ala... should've said earlier ma...
got ice pop asam boey flavour to eat some more...(pic taken by Hoi Veon)
even HV also cannot resist.
plan to ceruk tokun on saturday cancelled because Joe insisted on Bukit Merah. Erlz, Stooi & co. is having STPM soon so they're stressing themselves out they've all gotten skinnier! Everybody else is just too lazy. Am I the only one feeling sporty these days?
-yips-

p.s.: My DropShot host failed on me. I think I burst the limit already. It won't upload any pictures. That explains the uneven sizes of some picz. Damn it's 5.17a.m. already! Time for bed!

there's no place in KL that Yips and I Ping can't reach

This is suppose to be posted up 2 weeks ago..During the first week of sem break..But due to procastination, which I am good at..I finally gonna post it up today..Hehe...As i promised Beng, I cooked for him dinner. Suppose to cook some dish with vege and rice but ended up cooking pasta and potato salad. Easy and Fast mer.. It was my first attempt in making potato salad..Let's see how it turn out to be.. :P

Spirals with many types of 'balls' (fish balls, sotong balls, meat balls, etc) and egg.

Look..Beng is trying out my cooking..
He did not give me any response for a while..thinking that he might have fainted due to the cacated cooking, my heart beat almost stopped.
That was when he............JENG JENG JENG!!~!

Hehe...PASS!!Fuh...lega rasanya.. :)

Potato salad..
Consist of Potato, cucumber and eggs!
Overall : Potato was boiled too long causing it to be too soft, cucumber was too much, eggs was extremely alot!imagine 4 eggs for that much for potato. All I can taste in the potato salad is egg:(
I would say I fail in my first attempt of making potato salad..But it will not stop me from trying..Worst come to worst Beng will have to swallow all those un-makan-able food lo..hehe
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Reading good reviews from various food blog, Beng and I tried this Thai food opposite of LDP highway in Damansara Utama, Vicchuda Restaurant.
It's a must to have tomyam when we go for Thai food..
Chicken Tomyam
Tomyam wasn't that nice. I prefer the tomyam in Thai Nudle. This tomyam is not spicy and tasteless!!
Kerabu sotong
*Beng didn't know what is kerabu. Hehe. How cute!*
Kerabu suppose to consist of mango n stuff rite? But this restaurant serves kerabu with mainly onions, serai & tomato!
Udang masak pedas..
For desert, we had ABC..
Look at what they put inside..
All those colorful & tasteless small tiny balls.
Where is my atapchi? And jelly? :(
And their syrup is not syrup.
It's syrup mixed with milk = BANDUNG!! *pengsan*
The bill came up to Rm18. I would say it is cheap for Kl pricing!
Actually it's Rm18 because I think they forget to include the ABC. Hehe..

HEAVENLY CHOCOLATE CAKE

On Wednesday, I was invited over to

's

crib in Penang to bake a chocolate cake named Heavenly Chocolate Cake, a recipe taken from Kraft Foods. The thought self-baked cake full of cocoa had me being in quite a good mood while driving over. In fact, the whether was superb it was a pity I didn't stop for photography. All I did was steering with one hand and clicking away with another.

on the Penang bridge

a shot I took while stopping by to call Iping. This makes me feel like going on a vacation.
alamak~ can see reflection of the interior of my car
And we wasted no time upon reaching (of course la we had some catching up to do, stories to tell... but then started work as soon as possible).
The ladies at work were (in alphabetical order):
who bullies Jane around and loves to mingle with the mixer.
(looking rather hungry) and probably did the most dishwashing out of the group. (I am still in awe of how tall and slim she is)
The (sexy) Master Chef who instructed us on what to do and also willingly risked her kitchen to our amateur baking skills. *hugs hugs* (gurl, your pic a bit pixelated I'm not quite sure why. I need someone to teach me how to work photoshop!)
and me: the egg poser and also the one behind the camera for all the shots.
Pre-showdown: buy ingredients which included
"1 pkg. (2-layer size) chocolate cake mix (not pudding in the mix variety)
3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder, divided
3 eggs
1 cup MIRACLE WHIP Dressing (got yogurt instead)
4 oz. (1/2 of 8-oz. pkg.) PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese, softened
1 Tbsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
2-1/2 cups sifted powdered sugar (sponsor from Shzeli's aunt)"
(Jane and I Ping had early grocery shopping in Sunshine Square)
Pre-showdown (2) : Print the recipe and stick it to your refridgerator
(for referring purposes)
Now we're talking business
Step 1:
STIR cake mix and 1/2 cup of the cocoa in large mixing bowl. Add eggs, 1-1/3 cups water and dressing; beat with electric mixer on low speed 30 seconds, scraping bowl frequently. Beat on medium speed 2 minutes.
a happy Shzeli giving us tips on how to mingle with the blender
Shzeli: No Bubbles! Must be NO BUBBLES~

Step 2:
Pour into prepared pan.
Step 3:
BAKE 30 to 35 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
before baking.
Step 4:
Cool completely on wire rack.
after baking. It looks glittery and shimmering!
Step 5:
BEAT cream cheese, milk and vanilla with electric mixer on medium speed until well blended. Gradually add combined powdered sugar and remaining 1/4 cup cocoa, beating well after each addition. Spread over cake. Cut into 16 pieces to serve.

Let's see what goes on behind the scenes...
Shzeli at work--
(the girls messing around)
IPing : eh what is this for?
Jane: *ponders* UKO unidentified kitchen object
Shzeli again working tirelessly.
the girls yet messing around.
I Ping & Jane : Lick it off quick!
see the poor girl...

with angelic faces, together now... WE LOVE YOU SHZELI~
*hungry*
and this was what we ended up with
VERY HEAVENLY INDEED
We were quite proud of our end product (though we used the pudding cake mix)- Very chocolaty and yummy!

While waiting for the cake to bake, we watched :
a parody of Pride and Prejudice by the director of Bend It Like Beckham. It has elements of romance, comedy and musical in it- what I loved most was the saree's worn by the actresses: colourful and sexy.
tah pau
I seriously cannot wait for the next baking session!
